Smart Sensors

According to Halal (2008), Smart senors provides the means to control factor operations, monitor environmental conditions, collect military intelligence, detect system failures, and track movements of people and things. For example,
the U.S. Army is using the Smart Sensors to track soldiers. The system monitors dehydration, vital signs, wounds, and other critical indicators.

Considering the positive use of the Smart Sensor technology, I speculate that anti Smart Senors activist are going to attack this technology, deeming it unconstitutional.  Also, from a religious perspective for me it raises some questions.  People in general may reject the technology, due to observation of movies that reflect negative ending when someone has the ability to be tracked.

Overall, I agree with the technology as long as it used in an ethical manner.  From a business perspective, I see large profit potential.

Issues with Cloud Computing

After reviewing the Horizon report, my area of choice to discuss is Cloud Computing. In particular, I will discuss the disadvantages of Cloud Computing and possible solutions.

Base on the Horizon report, trust is an issue when dealing with the Cloud. In addition, connectivity, having enough bandwidth is an issue. For me two questions come to mine: 1. When will the government upgrade out infrastructure. 2. Will congress past a bill that regulates the trust factor of Cloud Computing host vs. users?

My proposed solutions are: 1. Fiber Optic LAN's 2. A law similar to FDIC but for Cloud Computing Host.

Ted's

How I harness the wind is the Ted talk.com video I saw. The video is about a guy from Africa who created his own windmill that generates electricity. The lessons learned from my perspective are: 1. Try something new, if you don’t try, you may never know the potential. 2. There is hope. 3. Innovation is never too old. What I mean by this is, the world is not fully developed and all areas of the world are at different levels. Base on this, ideas that are not innovative in one area may be innovative in another.

Innovation starts as an idea!
